Virtual Walking Challenge Success Story – Kennethra Price

Faithful Families PRINT

Shoutout to Kennethra Price for her amazing success with the Virtual Walking Challenge!

Kennethra joined us from Rocky Mount, NC as an individual participant, and although she competed as an individual, her faith helped keep her going!  Reminiscing about her experience, Kennethra explained, “I connected this challenge to my faith of never giving up. With it being so hot this time of the year I was a little worried in the beginning but I knew my intended goal was not to give up. I don’t have any friends that live close by so I decided to FaceTime my line sister days that I walked so that we could motivate each other to accomplish our goals. I also used a walking app on my phone to make sure I completed at least 5 miles when my body allowed me to.”

In addition to the success of completing the challenge, Kennethra also set personal goals for herself.  She had previously set a goal of being able to complete a five-mile walk– and now she has accomplished that goal as well!  Success doesn’t come without challenge, however, and the summer heat was definitely an obstacle.  Kennethra commented, “Although it was hot I still found motivation to to get out and walk most of my off days and some work evenings as well.”

Kennethra plans to continue with her health goals by walking at least 30 minutes a day that she’s off work, focusing on the foods she’s eating, and finding motivation goals on social media, as well as through her friends.

Keep up the good work, Kennethra!
